INDUSTRY PLANT #01: Weird Together (Nick Dwyer, Bianca Paulus, Izak Chads)
For the first episode of our new podcast series we spoke to Nick Dwyer, Bianca Paulus & Izak Chads of Weird Together before their Wellington show at San Fran last Friday.
Nick Dwyer is a long-time New Zealand radio host and DJ, as well as part-time TV presenter. He's previously worked on TV series such as Making Tracks, and more recently produced/directed a documentary series Diggin' In The Carts where he explored the history of Japanese video game music. Bianca Paulus has been the lead vocalist of the band since her debut performance with them at Rhythm & Alps last year. Her lively vocals can be heard on their latest single Ready For This. The steel pan is one of the signature instruments of Weird Together and can be heard in most of their songs. Izak Chads is responsible for this sound - a prime example of his touch can be heard on the aptly-named track Pan Machine.
