THE STROWLINI ORCHESTRA: The Strowl
Finding a connection between horn & string arrangements and stripped back modern electronic production seems to be the key to the formula for Pat Stewart, the mastermind behind The Strowlini Orchestra. The Strowl is a five-track EP, which may sound short, however it actually ends up clocking in at 30 minutes long. Each piece is able to grow organically without any time constraints, as elements come & go and crescendos build, allowing the listener to fully immerse themselves in the compositions. Cham (which features Angelo King of Third3ye & Chris CK) is carried by a wandering piano loop before the gorgeous string arrangement helps conclude the track. The final recording Tinglin' (ft. EDIE) has received support on Indie Shuffle, with comparisons to esteemed musicians Miguel Atwood-Ferguson and Bonobo among others. Head to The Wireless for an in-depth interview with Pat and to hear about the formation of the group & EP.
